This week, we have 10 autographed copies of Susanna Kearsley's new book, The Winter Sea (which is nominated for a RITA award), and 5 autographed copies of her re-released classic, Mariana. Neither book is available from U.S. publishers at this time.
To have a chance to win a copy of one of these books, you need to answer this question correctly:
At age seven, what fictional character did Susanna Kearsley want to be like?
Send your answer to aarblog@gmail.com Fifteen winners will be chosen at random from all correct entries submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Thursday night, April 23, 2009. (Unfortunately because of high postal rates, we can only ship to US addresses.) The winners will be announced here and notified by email on Friday, April 24, 2009. Good luck!
I'm not entering for copies of these books because I already have them.
Since they are not available in the US, it tells you how much I like
Kearsley's writing that I was willing to pay for shipping from Amazon.ca in
order to get them. "Mariana" is one of my favorite reincarnation stories,
although I must admit a guilty longing that Ms Kearsley write a sequel for
one of the characters who did not get his HEA in this book (didn't want to
give a spoiler, but I think others who have read Mariana will understand
the reference). She is one of the best at combining a romance and mystery
in a wholy satisfying way, where both halves of the equation are given
their due and characters are fully realized.
I've read them both, but I'm still sad I can't enter the contest.

I absolutely love this author! I adored "Named of the Dragon" and "The
Shadowy Horses". I haven't read these two before but plan to get and read
them now.
Marianne: At one point we did check out the cost of postage to Canada and
even sending a package parcel post or book rate was not cheap at all.
Sorry.
Dear AAR - sorry to be completely off-topic, but this is the only part of
your site I can get through to. For the last several weeks I've been unable
to access your site (I'm in New Zealand). I thought it might be the
computer I was using, but I've had the same result from different ones. I
can't click through to anything except the blog (and cached/text only on
some reviews) - the screen just times out. What's happening??
Suzanna: Could you please send an email to aarblog@gmail.com so we can
help you out with your connection problem?
