Shane Abe Podcast and Giveaway (Contest Now Closed)

posted Tuesday, 2 December 2008

On March 24th, the wait is over for Shana Abe fans who've been pining (as I have) for the newest book in her drakon series.  These incredible books blend fantasy, historical romance, and...well, just plain fine writing in a collection that ranks as one of my very favorites of all time.

I know that almost four full months until the publication of The Treasure Keeper is a long wait.  But, in the meantime, I've got something to tide you over:  A podcast with the (really) lovely and talented author recorded last summer at the RWA National Conference in San Francisco.

And would I offer a podcast without a giveaway?  Surely not.  Just comment below by 11:59 pm on Friday, December 5th and you could be selected as the (very!) lucky winner of a personalized and signed ARC of The Treasure Keeper.  The winner's copy will be winging its way soon after the contest's completion directly from the author herself.

As always, the winner of the ARC will be selected by the totally awesome and imminently qualified Rufus the Cat.  Look for the announcement here on Saturday morning, December 6th.

To listen to the podcast, just open this entry and click on the little icon thing-y.  The 14-minute podcast will automatically download to your iTunes or to any other application you use to listen to audio files.

Thanks to Shana Abe for taking the time to share her wit and wisdom.  And thanks, too, to everyone who downloads and listens.

A short note: The publishing business is a fluid one.  At the time this was recorded, Shana was under the impression that her book would be released in January.   The March 24th date is the current one.

I've been waiting for this latest chapter. There's always such romantic poetry to her narrations.

Even though I've read few paranormal novels, I've really enjoyed Shana Abe's books. The writing is fine. I'd love the ARC of this new one. :-) Elaine c.

How do you play these? I tried and tried to get the Linda Howard podcast to work and now I can't this one either.

Interesting podcast! I love the books and of course want to win the arc but it was interesting to hear her thought process either way. Listening to her info about the plague, historical accuracy and interweaving romance and history was really interesting. Wish we could have had more of a hint about what the "Treasure Keeper" is really about but I was glad for the hints that we got, especially about the heroine.

I love her books. I've read Shana Abe from the beginning, even before the drakon series. A very talented writer.

I would love to win this one! The Dream Thief is one of my favorite books. Her writing leaves me in such a lovely book trance that when I'm done with a book of hers I'm left foggy & dazed because my mind is still partly in the world she's created and I'm not eager to leave it.
